Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 2 teaspoons Baking Powder
- 2 teaspoons Lemon Juice
- 4 cups Apple, peeled and diced into bite sized pieces
- 2 tablespoons Sugar
- 2 Large Eggs, room temperature
- 1/4 cup Whole Milk
- Vegetable Oil for frying
Glaze
- 1 1/4 cup Confectioners Sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- 4 teaspoons Water
Directions
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt in a medium bowl
- In another bowl combine the lemon juice and apples
- In the bowl of a stand mixer with a paddle attachment mix together the sugar and eggs on medium speed until fully combined; reduce the speed to low; add the flour mixture in; mix until just combined
- Add the milk; continue to stir until all ingredients are incorporated then fold in the apples
- Fill a frying pan halfway with oil; heat over medium heat until the oil reaches 375F
- Add batter into the oil 1/4 cup at a time; fry fritters until golden brown; flip and fry the other side until golden brown; the fritters are done when a knife is inserted into the center and comes out clean
- Transfer to a paper towel lined cooling rack to let cool; repeat with all of the batter
- In a small bowl, combine the sugar, vanilla and 3 teaspoons of water; add 1 teaspoon more or extra until the glaze is pourable
- Drizzle the glaze over the cooled fritters; let dry
