Crock Pot French Dip Sandwich

  • 3 pounds Beef Roast
  • 2 large Onions, sliced
  • 2 cloves Garlic, crushed
  • 2 cups Beef Broth
  • ¼ cup Soy Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce
  • Salt and Pepper
  • Hoagie Buns
  • Provolone Cheese
  1. Start with a nicely trimmed beef roast; salt and pepper to taste
  2. Over medium high heat add two teaspoons oil; when pan is hot brown the roast; about 3 minutes per side
  3. Move roast to crock pot
  4. Add two large sliced onions to the saucepan; cook for a few minutes until clearing then add two cloves of garlic; cook for one more minute; move to crock pot
  5. Add 2 cups of beef broth, ¼ cup soy sauce, and 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce; mix well
  6. Cook on low for 7 hours; at the 5 hour mark, remove meat an slice into ¼ inch slices; return to the crock pot to cook for final 2 hours
  7.  To serve, cut hoagie buns in half; top the bottom half with meat and provolone cheese; cook under broiler for a few minutes until cheese is nicely melted also toast tops of buns briefly
  8. Serve with the cooking liquid from crock pot for dipping the sandwich into
